Safeguarding Guidance
Every child, young person and adult at risk has the right to have fun, be safe and free from harm whether taking part in activity recreationally, playing for a local club or representing a sport and country at an international level.
Living Sport takes the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and adults at risk seriously. We work to ensure that anyone providing physical activity opportunities within our county is creating a safe, and positive environment for people to benefit from. We expect our partners to be actively working to create a safer culture in sports and activity and have policies and processes in place that keep people safe. And we can help with this.
We have an important role to provide advice, guidance and training to help individuals and organisations adopt good practices for working with children, young people and adults at risk.
Whether you are a young person, a parent, someone who is running an activity we can help by:
- Listening to your concerns and helping take the next step in addressing them
- Providing advice on a particular situation
- Helping to set up policies and procedures
- Signposting you to information about specific parts of safeguarding
- Providing training to your organisation or group
