Activity Finders

There is a range of Activity finder tools, used by several organisations already to promote sports and activities to people locally. Here we feature 2 local options and 3 national examples.

Living Sport’s Inclusive Activity Map

There are 230 sports clubs and organisations across the county and beyond that offer either disability-specific activities or inclusive activities and partner with Living Sport to promote these through the Living Sport Inclusive Activity Map.

Click the map below to find out about opportunities near you.

All clubs and activity providers on the map have given permission for their details to be used and are keen to promote their activity to disabled people. The providers that have been recommended to us or that we have worked with support their inclusive approach. Living Sport cannot take responsibility for the providers and what they deliver.

Individuals looking for activities are advised to contact the individual provider they are interested in and discuss their specific needs to decide whether the opportunity is suitable for them.

If you are an inclusive activity provider and would like your activities featured on the map then please contact:  info@livingsport.co.uk

How Are you Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

How Are You (H.A.Y.) Cambridgeshire & Peterborough is a family of websites that bring together everything in the local community that boosts well-being. Connecting with others, getting active, learning a new skill, being creative, seeking professional support, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering – all of these things (and more) can improve our well-being. However, it isn’t always easy to know what is out there locally or to feel comfortable trying something new. H.A.Y. is all about helping you look after yourself.

The H.A.Y team are part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. The websites provide not just listings of local activities, groups and services but also video introductions to group organisers and taster clips of what to expect. H.A.Y. aims to support you both in finding out what you might like to get involved in and in taking those first steps. From yoga to singing, sports clubs to arts groups, or perhaps somewhere to talk or get a cup of tea, H.A.Y. brings you ideas of local things to do to boost your well-being. Plus, a wide range of local professional support.

To ask for an activity you run to be added to H.A.Y visit the Join Us Section of their website

National Activity Finders

National disability organisations have also developed their own activity finders for a specific audience. Which might be useful if people have specific impairments or are happy to travel a bit further afield in some cases. At the moment Living Sport or HAY do not link activities to these activity finders automatically.

CP Sport’s Club Finder – For people with Cerebral Palsy

Sense, – The national disability charity, has an online platform offering a range of free art, sport and well-being activities developed to support people with complex disabilities.
