Sports Leaders Volunteer Programme

A new programme of learning designed to offer young people a pathway into volunteering through building transferable core skills.

The overall aim of the programme is to provide young people with the confidence in their own abilities to put the learned skills into practice as effective volunteers in a variety of situations. Setting them on their volunteering journey and discovering new opportunities to become change makers in their communities. In turn, this provides them with the platform to embark on their volunteering journey into further study, such as leadership or coaching qualifications, helping them identify opportunities to put their skills into practice.

As learners progress through the 7-week programme, they complete a series of tasks, recording their progress in their own personal Volunteer Profile, creating an evidence record that demonstrates their growing skills.

The award will be accredited by SLQ Sports Leaders, providing a stamp of approval which is trusted by education and employers.
