Ping Pong Parlour serving up fun at Queensgate Centre!

Shoppers at the Queensgate Shopping Centre, Peterborough can now take a break from shopping and enjoy playing some free table tennis as the centre opens a pop-up Ping Pong Parlour.

The Parlour can be found in a vacant unit behind the escalators in North Square and will be open during 10am – 5pm, except Sundays 10:30 -4:30pm.  Everyone is welcome to drop in to play on one of the two table tennis tables in the parlour which promises to be an exciting attraction for visitors. The tables are available from 8 September; to join in the fun, simply grab a bat and play – absolutely free of charge!

Queensgate Shopping Centre is delighted to have teamed up with Table Tennis England, the sport’s National Governing Body, to bring this exciting project to life.

Ping Pong Parlours have already opened up in over 50 other shopping centres nationwide and form part of Table Tennis England’s vision to inspire people to get active and lead happier, healthier lifestyles by introducing table tennis into the ‘places where people are’.

Catherine Lambert, Centre Director at Queensgate said: “I am thrilled to announce the opening of our new Ping Pong Parlour, where fun and competition come together for everyone to enjoy. It’s a space designed to bring people together, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie through a sport that can be played by practically everyone.”

Other initiatives delivered by Table Tennis England helping to achieve this, include Ping!, a ping pong project which places hundreds of outdoor tables in public places of towns and cities; Ping in the Community, which provides table tennis opportunities for community organisations and into the workplace.
