Let's take a look at upcoming events in parks and open spaces near you!

There are lots of fantastic events taking place near you during the Easter holidays!
Take a look at some of the events taking place below. Get ready as we’re about to get really busy this month…

Join Becca Badger for an adventure at Cambourne Nature Reserve on the 12th of April between 10am and 12pm. This is a chance to play together with other families in the woods with a selection of ideas and resources.

This may include:

  • Building a shelter
  • Hunting for bugs
  • Setting a trail
  • Creating natural art
  • Climbing a tree

There is also much more that’s waiting to be explored!

This session and activities are perfect for families with primary-aged children, but older and younger siblings are also welcome as they will enjoy it just as much. Children must always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Paths around Cambourne Nature Reserve are mostly flat and accessible, and the sessions can be adapted to suit the group. The activities may stray slightly from the path into more muddy and uneven areas so be prepared to bring long sleeves and long trousers to avoid bites, stings and scratches!

The meeting point is Cambourne Nature Reserve (Oaks Wood) carpark, off School Lane, between Fenbridge and Quidditch Lane. This is a public car park and spaces cannot be guaranteed. The closest toilets and alternative car park is at Morrisons nearby.

Pond Dipping for Adults with Kevin Rowley

pond dipping

Lets change it up a bit!

Dipping in pools with a net is a well-known activity for children. But it need not be an activity exclusively practiced by children as we introduce Pond Dipping for Adults with Kevin Rowley on 15th of April 2023 between 10am and 4pm.

This course will take the “simple” a step further by introducing participants to techniques for pond assessment and providing a crash-course in identification of pond macroinvertebrates to species level.

The event is taking place at Cambourne Nature Reserve.
