Mick George Sports Fund

In 2022, The Mick George Sports Fund distributed £25,000 to 15 separate schemes.

The Mick George Sports Fund provides capital support funding for sports projects that are open to the general public.

The Mick George Sports Fund is open to local sports clubs or organisations that meet the necessary qualifying criteria for supporting the delivery of sport and physical activity. All projects must be located within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.  The fund, generously provided by Mick George will provide grants of between £500 and £1,500, for capital community sports projects or developments, open to the general public. These could include, but is not limited to; changing room improvements, clubhouse renovations and training or facility maintenance equipment. Exclusions are Member Exclusive Clubs / Commercial Organisations / Staff, Training or Travel Costs / Kits and some parts of South Cambridgeshire.

There is a two stage process to applying for this fund:

Stage one is a simple expression of interest process, which can be accessed here.

If successful in the first stage, Living Sport will then invite you to submit a full application.

The Mick George Sports Fund has approximately £20,000 available for 2023.  Submissions for 2023 have now closed and further details/updates for next year will be added soon.
